Construction crews work hard. People often observe their work, but how often do they receive the gratitude they deserve? Everyone wants to feel appreciated for their labor, especially people whose jobs are risky and dangerous. Because you see all the hard work they do every day it’s your job to make sure it doesn’t go unnoticed. Here are four ways to thank your construction team.
Improve Their Morning
Construction teams start the grind early. A lot of them rise and shine with the sun and work well into the late afternoon. Starting their morning off with high spirits is a great way to set the tone for the day.
Make their morning with a simple gesture like breakfast and coffee. A bagel, donut, and a cup of coffee are sometimes all they need to get energized for the day. It’s the sugar rush they need to wake up. Additionally, you can offer them a carpool option or other ways to commute to work. Provide commuting cards and free parking options to help relieve the financial burdens.
Gift Them New Gear
Over time, all construction gear and equipment will endure wear and tear. It’s only natural, especially for the more complex jobs. People don’t always replace them as often as they should.
Take the task off their hands and gift them with the perfect gear. Choose the best items depending on their job, or which materials they use the most. This small gesture will make them feel appreciated. Or you might even consider upgrading their PPE if you really care about their well-being.
Plan a Happy Hour
Help them take a load off. Grueling long hours working the site requires a happy hour. The first round should be on you. Ask around the site and see who wants to go out for a few drinks and some good grub.
Decide on a location and time everyone can accept. Set it up so workers have a chance to go home and change their clothes. You want them to enjoy the happy hour and wash away the grime from a rough workday. Encourage them to bring out their family members, too.
Send Them Home
Sending them home early may be the best gift you can give an employee. Home is where the heart is. Let them finish work early and relax. They get a chance to truly unwind and rest so that they come to work the next day refreshed.
Most importantly, they get a chance to see their family earlier than normal. They miss those prime morning and afternoon hours because of their work schedule. And if they come home too late, they won’t want to do anything but sleep. Send them home early so that they can arrive in time for dinner.
Give your construction team the proper gratitude and thanks they deserve so that they can continue their amazing work.
