Pelahatchie High School (PHS) recognizes the Chieftan Award as an award that goes beyond academics and looks at the character of an individual. PHS teachers nominate students for behavior, attendance, citizenship and other characteristics that exemplify what it means to be a Chief.

- 11th Grade, Jake Clark
- 12th Grade, Mariah McGill
PHS also recognize Coach Nikki Nutt as PHS’s Teacher of Innovation for October. PHS writes, “Coach Nutt has built a highly competitive volleyball program here at Pelahatchie; they even competed for the district playoffs this year!
Additionally, Coach Nutt has begun building our engineering program. She challenges these students every single day to explore solutions to real world problems. Coach Nikki Nutt is not only an innovative teacher, but she is also creating innovative learners! Help us congratulate Coach Nikki Nutt as PHS’s Teacher of Innovation for October.”
