Johnston recognized as Outstanding  MSU Teacher Intern Honoree

Mississippi State’s College of Education is recognizing eight December 2022 graduates for their outstanding work as teacher interns. Amanda Johnston of Pelahatchie, elementary education major, is one of those eight students.
 

The Nominations for Outstanding Teacher Interns are submitted by classroom mentor teachers to honor those who exhibit resourcefulness, initiative and effectiveness. These eight awardees completed teaching internships at various Mississippi public schools across the state and were recognized for outstanding professionalism and performance through their commitment to public school teaching.
 

MSU Outstanding Teacher Intern award recipients and their internship schools are: Katie Blair York of Amory, elementary education/middle school major, West Amory Elementary School, Amory School District; Andrea Berryhill of Batesville, elementary education major, Eupora Elementary School, Webster County School District; Loni Cook of Hernando, elementary education major, Oak Grove Elementary School, Desoto County School District; Shelby Vaughn of Marion, Arkansas, elementary education major, Sudduth Elementary School, Starkville Oktibbeha School District; Amanda Johnston of Pelahatchie, elementary education major, Lake Elementary School, Scott County School District; Valencia Epps of Starkville, elementary education major, Eupora Elementary School, Webster County School District; Lendon Chandler of Terry, elementary education major, Eupora Elementary School, Webster County School District; and Shelby Abrams of Woodland, elementary education major, East Webster Elementary School, Webster County School District.
