Ever Reaching Community Outreach (ERCO), a non-profit organization in Pelahatchie, is in need of food donations to assist in feeding the community. Some of the items that are needed are cereal, Pop-tarts and breakfast items, fresh produce, canned vegetables, canned meat (tuna, chicken, Vienna sausages), soups and Spaghettios, rice, instant potatoes, peanut butter and crackers.
ERCO is also seeking volunteers to help with minor home repairs to area low-income households. Materials and supplies are also necessary to aid with the home repairs. These services are dependent on volunteer and material availability. Those interested in volunteering can contact ERCO at 601-717-2675.
“ERCO has seen growth, but it’s because the needs are so great,” said Tammy Brun, Founding Member and Executive Director. ”There’s not a day that goes by that someone doesn’t drop off a donation in Pelahatchie. It’s amazing!”
ERCO participated in the Mississippi Alliance of Nonprofits and Philanthropy Capitol Day on February 23. The Alliance is a statewide organization that serves, builds capacity, and fosters collaboration among and between Mississippi’s nonprofit and philanthropic communities. The Alliance helps nonprofits work together to solve problems and build stronger communities for children and families across Mississippi.
Jamie Rasberry, Director of Policy and Strategic Partnerships with The Alliance said, “We are proud of the impact nonprofits have in communities all over the state, and we are here to help lift up the voices of those leading this work to leadership at the state level.”
