Adcock runs for Circuit Clerk

Adcock runs for Circuit Clerk

Rankin County Chief Deputy Circuit Clerk Michelle Adcock qualified to run for Circuit Clerk on January 3, 2023.  Adcock is running as a Republican to fill the seat that will be left open upon Becky Boyd’s announcement that she is retiring at the end of her term.

With the support of family and a call from her Lord and Savior, Adcock decided to seek this position.  Adcock has a love for Rankin County, its people and a passion for the work being done in the Circuit Clerk’s office.  A graduate of Mississippi College with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and an emphasis in Accounting, Adcock has served her community in the Information Technology field at both Region VIII Mental Health and the Rankin County Board of Supervisors for the past 25 years.  She has written and modified software being used in almost all departments of the county. She was recruited to work for the Circuit Clerk’s office in 2018 and was promoted to Chief Deputy Clerk in 2021. With election security and integrity being at the forefront of the news media, her 15 plus years of invaluable experience working with the Circuit Clerk, the Board of Supervisors, and the Election Commission to help put on Federal, State and County elections is an asset. Her extensive hands-on working knowledge of the office and her technology background gives her the experience to run the office on day one.

Her goal, if elected, is to advance the clerk’s office by making every effort to create innovative ways to help streamline processes and services, create a voter education program for high schoolers, and continue to make the office as efficient and transparent as it has been for decades. Her pledge to all citizens is to work hard every day to serve the people of Rankin County with courtesy, dignity, and professionalism.

Adcock has been a resident of Rankin County for over 32 years. She has been married to Bill for 27 years and they have two sons, Wyatt and Weston, who both reside in Brandon. She is a member of The Mississippi Republican Party, The Rankin County Republican Women and Brandon Rotary Club. Her family worships each Sunday at The Way Church, where Adcock volunteers for the Women’s Ministry, the Children’s Ministry, and the prayer team.
