Kayla Boyles was named the Rankin County School District March 2023 McLaurin and Pelahatchie Elementary gifted teacher. The school congratulated Boyles and said, “Thank you for all you do for our students!!”
Jessica Shamburger was selected as PES Rankin County Chamber Teacher of the Year for 2022-2023. Pelahatchie Elementary administration writes, “We are so proud of her continued dedication to our school and community.”

In March, Robin Sanders was named as the RCSD Elementary Administrator of the Month. Sanders began teaching at Pelahatchie Elementary in 1998. She began her role as Pelahatchie Elementary Principal in 2020. Sanders has worked for the school for 25 years in total. “We try to keep teachers and students mindful that all progress takes place outside our comfort zone. We support each other along the way and support each other as we grow and learn,” said Sanders.
