3 Things You Didn’t Know About the Jeep Gladiator

Are you searching for a new personal vehicle that’s striking in appearance and high-performing across a multitude of terrains and environments? If so, the Jeep Gladiator is the ideal car for you! Read on to learn three interesting things you didn’t know about the Jeep Gladiator.

Jeep Gladiator Military Experience

One of the more interesting Jeep Wrangler facts is that the designs for these cars originated from Allied military vehicles from WWII. But did you know the Jeep Gladiator also has some military experience? The Jeep Gladiator M715 and M725 (1967-1969) are civilian Jeep pickups modified with special military equipment and features.

Both the Swedish Air Force and Lebanese Armed Forces have M715 Gladiators in their fleets, as well as some Gladiator SJs, Klargöringsbil 9711s, and Klargöringsbil 9712s. Some believe that the Lebanese Armed Forces modified their fleet of Gladiators to include anti-aircraft autocannons and heavy machine guns. However, Jeep does not offer military versions of the current generation of Gladiators.

Jeep Gladiator Easter Eggs

Loyal Jeep fans practically expect every single new Gladiator to feature a vast array of design “Easter eggs”—thankfully, Jeep always delivers. The 2023 Jeep Gladiator boasts a few interesting design elements worth noting.

One Easter egg is the “419” stamped into the truck bed (419 is the area code of Toledo, Ohio, the current location for Gladiator manufacturing). The Gladiator also has the image of flip-flops etched into the passenger-side windshield cowl (an homage to legendary car journalist and Jeep fanatic Rick Péwé who helped provide various function recommendations for many Jeep vehicles). However, the best-hidden feature of modern Jeep Gladiators is undoubtedly the removable Bluetooth speaker, complete with the Jeep’s iconic seven-slite grill design, docked behind the rear seat row.

A River Crossing Beast

Many people like the Jeep Gladiator for its off-roading prowess and capabilities. However, some casual Jeep fans might not know just how capable this pickup truck is off-road, especially when navigating potentially dangerous terrains and environments.

Mainly, Gladiators are well-suited for crossing rivers and small streams of water. In fact, a standard Gladiator with 11.1 inches of ground clearance remains functional in 30-inch deep bodies of water. Plus, adding special air intake modifications and engine snorkels can increase your vehicle’s depth resistance further, ensuring better performance in the most rugged environments.

These three things you didn’t know about the Jeep Gladiator expertly highlight just how impressive this automobile is and all it has to offer for you and your passengers. Consider this advanced off-roading pickup for your next vehicle and experience the benefits of Gladiator ownership!
