COVID-19 Cases in MississippiAs of Friday, September 18, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 497 new COVID-19 cases and 12 new COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in our state to 92,432 and the total number of deaths to 2,792. Earlier this week, State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs and State Epidemiologist Dr. Paul Byers hosted a Facebook Live forum to answer various questions from the general public. The virtual event covered questions regarding COVID-19 testing, treatments, mask-mandates, contact tracing, and more. While state case numbers are on a consistent decline, it is still vital for every Mississippian to stay informed about the virus and make wise decisions that will assist in the effort of "flattening the curve."Click here to watch a recap of the MSDH COVID-19 Facebook Live event. |
