On Saturday, August 3, 2024, The Muscadine Vine hosted its highly anticipated Back to School Market at 505 Second Avenue in the Davis Shopping Center parking lot. The day long fun-filled, family event was free for all in attendance and took place from 9am to 4pm. The event included lots of entertainment, shopping, and community spirit, making it a good way to kick off the new school year.
Founded by best friends Kristin Womack and Stephanie Martin, with support from Stephanie’s husband Blake, The Muscadine Vine has become a staple in Pelahatchie since its grand opening on October 14, 2023. This charming gift shop, known for its vibrant colors, delightful aromas, and quirky employee of the month Vinny the Fish, offers a unique collection of handmade items and boutique creations.
The Back to School Market featured live music, a bounce house and slides for the kids, and a variety of food vendors, boutiques, and arts and crafts vendors. Visiters were also able to participate in giveaways, which included the chance to win a back-to-school backpack. Partial proceeds from in-store sales will be donated to the Pelahatchie Attendance Center for lunch funds, further highlighting The Muscadine Vine’s commitment to supporting the local community.
Kristin and Stephanie, both Pelahatchie natives, take pride in their roots and eagerly seek customer feedback to continually enhance their offerings. The Muscadine Vine features an array of products, including candles, gift wrapping, gift cards, woodwork designs, embroidery, and stylish apparel. Beyond being a retail space, it serves as a community hub, hosting workshops led by guest artists where visitors can create their crafts with expert guidance. They also host a ladies group for Bunko nights.
The store is open Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
Stay connected with The Muscadine Vine on Facebook for updates and more information on any future events.
