This Veterans Day, the Pelahatchie Elementary and High School communities came together to honor and learn from heroes in uniform through two special events. 2nd and 3rd graders attended an inspiring Military Career Panel, where they learned about the diverse paths in the armed forces and the importance of service from community members and parents of our students. Later, the Pelahatchie Chiefs JROTC led a meaningful flag retirement ceremony, attended by 6th graders and joined by the band. Students learned the significance of respectfully retiring worn flags, reflected on the meaning of the flag to our freedoms, and were encouraged to seek ways to serve others in their daily lives.
