Pelahatchie Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 18

A fatal crash in Rankin County claimed the life of a Pelahatchie man on Saturday, February 22. The two-vehicle collision occurred just before 12:30 p.m. on Highway 18 near Sanctuary Drive.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), the crash involved a 2009 Honda Civic and a 2019 GMC Sierra. Reports indicate that the Honda Civic was traveling north on Will Stutely Drive when it collided with the GMC Sierra, which was heading east on Highway 18.

The driver of the Honda Civic, identified as 39-year-old James Williams III, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a passenger of the GMC Sierra sustained injuries and were transported to St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson for medical treatment. The extent of their injuries remains unknown at this time.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the crash, and the incident remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
