Pelahatchie took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Mendenhall, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference.
Pelahatchie sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Mendenhall on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Chiefs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
The team relied heavily on Ben Mosley, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Peyton Homles, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Pelahatchie’s victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Mendenhall, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Pelahatchie will have a chance to go back-to-back against Mendenhall: the pair’s next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28.
