Congratulations to Pelahatchie High School student (PHS) Laura Pohlyova for being chosen as the newest ICES Mississippi Youth Exchange Program Student of the Month. This is a huge honor and the school is proud of Pohlyova. She has been an asset to our PHS student body this school year.
Since arriving at Pelahatchie High School in Mississippi, Laura has embraced every opportunity with dedication and heart.
Academics: Laura has excelled in her senior-level courses - especially in English - showing incredible work ethic and creativity. She recently earned top-five honors in mixed media art at the State Beta Convention!
Athletics: Laura is a standout athlete on both the soccer and tennis teams, contributing to the school’s success and earning respect from coaches and teammates alike.
Cultural Exchange: Laura has fully immersed herself in American culture while proudly sharing her Slovak heritage. Her kindness, leadership, and positive energy have made her a beloved part of the school community.
Laura’s teachers describe her as hardworking, thoughtful, and an inspiration to those around her.
