Kimberly C. Banks was appointed the new Town of Pelahatchie’s attorney after John Wakeland’s resignation was announced at the November 2 Board meeting. She is the sixth attorney hired in the last three and a half years.
Banks is a municipal attorney with Banks Law & Associates of Ridgeland who has practiced for 16 years. Her experience includes the City of Jackson, the City of Canton, the City of Pickens, and Hinds County.
She was hired under the same contract terms that Wakeland had, $500 retainer and $150 an hour. It is a month-to-month contract that can be terminated at any time by both parties.
