February PHS events: What's ahead

Principal, Pelahatchie High School

The second semester is in full swing! Several academic events worth noting are ahead of us.  On Tuesday, February 1, our juniors will attend a bootcamp to begin preparing for the Workkeys Test a week later on Tuesday, February 8. The week after, on Tuesday, February 15, our juniors will attend another bootcamp to begin focusing on the ACT test two weeks later on Tuesday, March 1. Last, please help us prepare all of our students for Progress Reports on Thursday, February 10.
Regarding Chiefs' athletics, programs are nearing the end of their seasons while others are beginning. The soccer season, led by first-year Coach Matthew Bobo, saw promising growth from our teams. With that said, we are looking forward to what is to come from our boys and girls soccer programs.
At this point in the year, we have transitioned into the boys and girls powerlifting season. Led by Coach Tyler Walters and Coach Anna Kilpatrick, our powerlifters are anxious to compete this year and look forward to a "STRONG" year!
Last, and as the Pelahatchie High School Basketball regular season comes to a close, we would like to invite you all to come support our Chiefs as they host the 2022 Region 6 2A Division Tournament. Play begins on Monday, February 7 and continues through Friday, February 11. As soon as region play ends, the tournament bracket schedule will be set and released. Tickets will be available through Gofan. We hope to see you all there; for any questions, do not hesitate to call.
    Go Chiefs!
