David White was recently honored as Pelahatchie High School (PHS)’s Parent of the Year. He has been pastor at Pelahatchie Baptist Church since January 7, 2019.
According to the Pelahatchie Baptist Church website, “David White is a preacher’s kid that’s been in ministry circles his whole life. He is a graduate of Clinton High School and Mississippi College, and earned Master and Doctorate Degrees from Baylor University’s Truett Seminary. He lives in a girl’s world with his wife, Elizabeth, and their two daughters, Mary Frances and Martha Kate. In his spare time David likes to hunt, play golf, and build things out of wood.”
Recently, his woodworking skill came in handy in his work to build lockers for the ladies’ basketball locker room.
Alexia Jones, Pelahatchie High School Assistant Athletic Director and Girls' Basketball Coach, said, “Brother David is an epitome of a servant leader! He’s about people and the community. I asked him to help me with something small and he went over and beyond, not only for my program but for others also! Anytime he can help he’s always there. He’s always behind the scenes doing anything he can to make Pelahatchie better! Not to be praised, but to serve people as he serves God!"
Pastor White said, “I am extremely honored by this recognition. It is my joy to partner with such great educators to invest in the future of this community and consider my service as an expression of Christ’s love to our students. This is how we better our community, and I look forward to supporting and partnering with them again next year.”
